Twiage Used to Improve STEMI Treatment Times in Ohio

December 8, 2021

Trumbull Regional Medical Center in Ohio has been using Twiage for years to improve prehospital communication and ED situational awareness, and is now extending Twiage’s abilities into their cardiology service line to improve patient outcomes in high acuity events. The app is being used by EMS to send across vital information ahead of arrival, allowing for pre-registration of patients and better prehospital clinical awareness, which can save extremely valuable time in treatment for heart attack patients. Says Missie Herman, director of cardiothoracic and vascular services at TRMC: “Any time you can shut off time for a patient, it actually helps to save the cardiac muscle, so the ‘Twiage’ app is very important to us ’cause that 19 minutes help save the cardiac tissue in that patient,”.
